Installation Guide
Welcome to the CowLoom installation guide! Follow these simple steps to get CowLoom up and running in your Chrome browser.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you meet the following prerequisites:
- A computer running Google Chrome browser (version 116 or higher)
Step 1: Download & Extract CowLoom

Download the CowLoom zip file from this link: CowLoom v0.2.2.

Extract the zip file to a folder on your computer.
Step 2: Open Chrome Extensions

Open Google Chrome on your computer.

Go to the Chrome Extensions page by entering
chrome://extensions/
in the browser's address bar.
Step 3: Enable Developer Mode
- In the Chrome Extensions page, you will find a toggle switch labeled "Developer mode." Enable it.
Step 4: Load CowLoom

Click on the "Load unpacked" button that appears after enabling Developer mode.

Navigate to the root folder of the CowLoom project that you downloaded in Step 1. Enter the
extension
folder. -
Click "Select" or "Open" to load the CowLoom extension.
Step 5: Pin CowLoom to Toolbar

Open the extensions icon in your Chrome browser.

Pin the CowLoom extension to the Toolbar for easier access.
Step 6: Grant Microphone Permission

Right-click on the CowLoom extension icon (⚪) in the Toolbar.

Select "View web permissions."

In the "Microphone" section, ensure the value is set to "Allow."
Step 7: You're Ready to Record!
CowLoom is now installed and ready to use. You can start recording your tabs with just a click.

Open the tab you want to record.

Click the CowLoom icon (⚪) in the Toolbar to start recording.

To stop recording, click the CowLoom icon again or right-click on the page and select "Stop Recording."
